N.E.P. Method by Valentina Riente

N.E.P. massage: naturopathic, emotional and personalised

A method that puts the person at the centre and adapts each treatment to their needs and the moment they are going through.

There is no such thing as a generic body. So there can be no such thing as a generic treatment.

The N.E.P. Method comes from listening to the person, not from a set sequence.

Every body carries its own rhythms, tensions and habits, and its own way of responding to touch. That is why I observe, listen and adapt the treatment to what I sense in that moment. Technique, sensitivity and presence come together to create a truly personal experience.

Foundations

The five pillars of the N.E.P. Method

The N.E.P. Method does not follow a rigid sequence. It rests on five principles that shape the way I listen, observe and connect with the person.

  1. The practitioner listens

In the N.E.P. Method I don’t start straight away by doing. First I stop, observe and listen. I enter a state of calm presence and let the breath, the tone of the body and its reactions show me how to begin the treatment.

  2. The breath guides

The breath is a compass. I don’t ask you to breathe in a particular way: I observe where the breath flows, where it slows down or where it stops. Following it lets me adapt rhythm and intensity without forcing the body.

  3. The hands sense, they don’t push

Hands are not just tools for applying pressure. They sense warmth, response and tension, seeking precise and respectful contact. The body is not corrected: it is listened to and accompanied.

  4. Touch is personalised

There is no one sequence for everyone. Each treatment is built in real time, changing hand movements, pressure, rhythm and intensity according to the person and to what emerges during the session.

  5. Emotional balance is part of the work

The body can also carry emotions, experiences and tensions that have no need to be interpreted. If something emerges during the treatment, I let it have its space, without judgement and without forcing anything.

What happens

How an N.E.P. treatment works

Before starting I observe, listen and try to understand what you need in that moment. The treatment takes shape gradually, following the breath and the body’s responses, with no rigid sequence set in advance.

  1. Welcome and listening

The first meeting is already part of the treatment. I ask what you expect from the experience, what your needs are and how you would like to be touched, so that we build a truly personal approach from the very beginning.

  2. The first contact

The work begins gently, by listening to the breath and through respectful contact. Warmth, light traction and soft movements gradually prepare the body for the treatment.

  3. A treatment that changes with you

The work starts from the back and moves on to the different areas of the body. Pressure, rhythm and hand movements are adapted according to the sensations and responses that emerge during the session.

  4. The breath as a common thread

Through the different stages of the treatment too, the breath remains a point of reference. It helps me accompany the body without forcing it and maintain continuity between contact, movement and perception.

Atmosphere

The N.E.P. experience comes from care for every detail

A space designed for slowing down, feeling welcome and finding your own time again.

For me, a treatment does not begin with the first movement of the hands. It begins with the welcome, the setting and the sensations that surround the person: soft light, enveloping fabrics, a delicate scent and every element chosen with care. Music is part of the N.E.P. Method too: it was created specially by a composer to accompany the experience and to create continuity between breath, perception and treatment.

The complete experience

The N.E.P. sauna ritual

An experience that begins before the massage.

In the fullest version of the N.E.P. Method, the treatment is preceded by an Aufguss ritual in the sauna. Heat, essential oils and breath gradually lead the person towards listening more closely to themselves, preparing the body for the massage. The ritual unfolds in three stages, pairing different essences with work on the breath.

How the method began

From a massage to a personal experience

An intuition that, over time, took on a shape, a method and an identity.

In July 2022, during a mystery guest inspection at the Gran Meliá, someone described my treatment for the first time as something that went beyond a simple massage: a sensory, introspective journey. That remark gave me the wish to give a precise form to the way I work, bringing together techniques, listening and presence in an experience able to bring a person back into contact with themselves.

From there the N.E.P. Method began to take shape: not just a treatment, but a personal way of understanding massage and the relationship with the body.
