The power of thoughts

Masaru Emoto and the experiments on water

It is truly astonishing to understand how our intent, through thoughts, words and symbols, can alter matter.

Today quantum physics, which studies matter at subatomic levels, has come to explain to us how the observer conditions reality, and we can better understand the relationship between consciousness and reality.

The Japanese researcher Masaru Emoto devoted much of his career to carrying out experiments on water and observing the effect of thoughts on it. Water is life, water carries information, we are made of water, the world is made of water, without water we could not live. In practice, what he did was to direct mental stimuli at water crystals and then take photographs of them under a microscope. The images showed that the crystals at which positive thoughts were directed were perfectly harmonious and uniform, while those at which negative thoughts were directed were more chaotic and had confused shapes. This would mean that words not only carry messages but also emit vibrations, that they have a resonance that goes beyond their meaning.

But if words have such a visible impact on water crystals, what then will they do to our body, which is largely composed of water?

Let’s think about the thoughts a human being can have about themselves. There are people who look in the mirror every day and have negative, recurring thoughts: let’s now imagine what can happen to the water in our body when we continually have negative thoughts such as “I’m an idiot”, “there’s no hope”, “I hate you”, “I can’t do it”.

Let’s think about the chemical reactions that can be triggered when stress is eating us alive, when we are completely caged in by worries or when resentment keeps us awake at night.

Although there is no way of knowing exactly how far thoughts like these reach, we can hypothesise that if they can have a destructive impact on water, they could also have one on the body.

(for example in the form of a lowered immune system or psychological suffering)

I want to share with you the image of the results of his experiments on water, through which he was able to observe how the shapes of the crystals varied according to the different words and music applied to the water.

And so we can understand how water is influenced by intent, by thought, by the vibration of a sound or a word, and how it stores that information. Words, like thoughts, like symbols (like everything, in fact) are energy that has a vibration and a frequency. In the experiment it is indeed clear how different pieces of information influence water in different ways.

The force of thought

The central point of Masaru Emoto’s experiments on water is that there is a force in thought, a force that has an impact on the water present in organisms and in plants.

His research suggests that negative thoughts weaken and disorder the internal structure of water crystals.

While positive thoughts strengthen and create beauty and serenity.

In the words of Emoto himself, for us this means that:

Water is not only of fundamental importance for sustaining life, but is also necessary for preserving a positive approach to it.

So if we made a daily commitment to concentrate on positive words, the vibration carried by the water particles would perhaps have a beneficial effect on the body and on morale.

The beauty of the “Love and Gratitude” crystal could become our inner beauty if, in a given situation, we chose to concentrate on these frequencies instead of letting ourselves be carried away by resentment.

Or, in difficult times, when everything seems off-balance and the mind has lost its equilibrium, concentrating on the thought “Peace of Mind” could convey soothing thoughts and give stability.

Conclusions on the experiments on water

Masaru Emoto’s experiments lead us to the conclusion that we human beings are able to generate energy, and that we can alter the internal structure of things through the vibrations of our thoughts and our words.

If we have faith in this “power” – the power to enter into resonance with what is outside us – we must also accept responsibility for what our energy can do to people, plants and animals.

After all, you don’t need an experiment to understand that words can hurt, that negative thoughts carry bad energy.

If you talk to someone whose hobby is gardening, they’ll tell you that the plants you care for are the plants that grow most lushly.

If you talk to someone who has animals, they’ll tell you that the animals you love are the ones that are healthiest and best behaved.

And if you talk to someone who has children… well, needless to say what happens to a child who isn’t loved.

Masaru Emoto’s experiments on water help us to visualise what could happen inside the people we love when we aren’t careful about how we treat them.

But they do even more.

They remind us that we must develop clean thinking, free of malice and hatred, if we want to be a positive presence.

The reason is that, as Masaru Emoto says,

there is an invisible exchange of energies between all living beings, and to give energy to the world around us we must first have energy within us.

You cannot give something to someone unless you first possess it. To have love in your life you must begin to respect yourself, appreciate yourself and take care of yourself.

When you feel you have enough love for yourself, then – and only then – will you be ready to share your love and your life with someone else.

Try reflecting on the fact that our body is about 70% water.

Do you think the quality of our thoughts can influence our emotional and physical state? Can positive thoughts, harmonious ones, have a positive influence on your reality?

The answer is up to you!
